THE RED HEELS

BIO

The Red Heels began in 2011, not through industry planning, but through a shared passion for music between two college basketball players separated by continents yet united by instinct. From dorm rooms and practice studios emerged a collaboration shaped by experimentation, honesty, and a refusal to follow convention.

What started with the track Empty Love soon evolved into a creative philosophy: make music that feels real. Despite more than 10,000 miles between New York and Melbourne, the duo used technology, late-night sessions, and relentless creativity to bridge the distance and develop a sound entirely their own.

Their debut Untitled EP introduced listeners to a blend of raw vocals, textured production, and genre-defying songwriting that pushed beyond traditional boundaries. With the follow-up project Colours continuing that evolution, The Red Heels established themselves not by fitting into a scene, but by creating one of their own.

Unpredictable, atmospheric, and unapologetically original, The Red Heels remain driven by one certainty: the music always comes first.

"The World is a small place, and music is Universal"

Red Heels

The Red Heels united Las Vegas vocalist Matthew Cornwell (Black&ndWhite) and Melbourne producer Jay Ferriere in a collaboration built on instinct, experimentation, and a refusal to be confined by genre. Drawing influence from R&B, folk, rap, electronic, and soul, the duo created music driven by honesty rather than commercial expectation.

Working across opposite sides of the world through shared ideas and technology, the pair developed a creative chemistry that began with the track Empty Love and evolved into a fluid artistic partnership. At the heart of their philosophy was a simple belief: make music that feels real, never force the process, and let the art speak for itself.
